In a move that strengthens its position as a key player in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) investment landscape, Saudi equity management platform RasMal has acquired Pentugram, a cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution for investors. This strategic acquisition signifies RasMal’s commitment to fostering a more efficient and transparent investment ecosystem in the region.
Pentugram, founded in 2018, offers a suite of features designed to streamline investment processes for various stakeholders, including venture capitalists, angel investors, private equity firms, and financial advisors. The platform automates tasks from deal sourcing to portfolio management, while providing valuable reporting capabilities for limited partners (investors in private equity funds).
By integrating Pentugram’s functionalities, RasMal aims to empower both investors and fund managers with comprehensive solutions for portfolio management, deal sourcing, and other critical investment activities. Existing Pentugram users will also gain access to RasMal’s established services, creating a more holistic investment experience.
“This acquisition reflects our shared vision of leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and transparency in the MENA investment landscape,” explains Nasser Al-Tamimi, COO of RasMal. “By combining our strengths, we can offer a powerful platform that caters to the evolving needs of the region’s growing investment community.”
The acquisition underscores RasMal’s strategic shift towards private capital investment management solutions. As the number of startups and investment firms in the MENA region continues to rise, RasMal believes its user-friendly technology will play a vital role in ensuring the long-term sustainability of the ecosystem.
“We are confident that RasMal’s acquisition will significantly enhance the accessibility and value proposition of Pentugram’s platform,” says Hasan J. Zainal, co-founder and managing partner of Arzan VC and co-founder of Pentugram. “This integration will allow us to extend our reach beyond venture capitalists and empower a wider range of asset managers, ultimately contributing to better returns for all users.”
