Obaseki’s Initiatives: ESDPC Nears Completion of Emotan Gardens Phase II, Advances Plans for Phase III

The Edo State Development and Property Corporation (ESDPC) has announced significant progress on the second phase of its affordable housing initiative, Emotan Gardens City, which began in 2018. According to the agency, Phase II is nearing completion, with 95 out of the 147 planned housing units already in the finishing stages.

In a recent statement, ESDPC Executive Chairman, John Zedomi, highlighted the strides made in advancing affordable housing in Edo State. He also disclosed that agreements have been signed with reputable private developers to kick-start the third phase of Emotan Gardens, aligning with Governor Godwin Obaseki’s commitment to providing affordable housing solutions to residents of the state.

“We are proud of the progress achieved so far,” Zedomi said. “For Emotan Gardens, we successfully delivered Phase I. Currently, 95 of the 147 housing units in Phase II are at the final stages of construction. In addition, we have entered into Joint Venture Agreements (JVAs) with several private developers to collaborate on the development of Emotan Gardens City Phase III.”

Regarding the Golf Mews Project, Zedomi confirmed that the development had been completed and handed over to subscribers. He added, “Golf Mews was designed as an outright sale project, and it has been fully delivered to buyers. Its management has since been entrusted to private contractors, ensuring professional maintenance and upkeep of the property.”

The ESDPC, which evolved from the Edo Development and Property Agency (EDPA), has undergone a strategic reorganization to fulfill its mandate of driving commercial property development across the state. With a focus on ensuring high standards and commercial viability, the success of Emotan Gardens City serves as a clear demonstration of the corporation’s commitment to delivering top-tier housing projects in partnership with private sector stakeholders.
