South Africa’s Reunert Group has taken a significant step towards solidifying its position as a leading digital solutions provider. The company has merged its subsidiaries, IQbusiness and +OneX, into a single entity, rebranding as iqbusiness. This move positions the company as a comprehensive “digital integrator,” offering a suite of business and technology services.
The merger, which brings together approximately 1,500 employees, aims to leverage the strengths of both companies. IQbusiness, a renowned management and technology consulting firm with a strong South African presence since 1998, will now encompass two key divisions:
- iqx: Leading the charge in advanced technology capabilities.
- midnight: Focused on driving innovation and fostering thriving digital ecosystems.
This strategic consolidation follows Reunert’s acquisition of a majority stake in IQbusiness in 2023 and its earlier announcement of the merger plan in April 2024.
Adam Craker, appointed CEO of the newly formed iqbusiness, expressed enthusiasm for this new chapter. He emphasized the potential unlocked by the merger, enabling the company to deliver comprehensive and impactful solutions to its clients across various industries.
Rob Godlonton and René Bredenkamp, key figures from +OneX, will assume leadership roles within the integrated entity, further strengthening its executive team.
Graeme Eddey, CEO of the Reunert ICT segment, highlighted the significance of this merger within the broader strategic growth initiatives of the company. He emphasized the synergistic potential between iqbusiness, along with other key subsidiaries like Nashua, Skywire, ECN, and Quince, in driving business growth both domestically and internationally.
This merger comes at a time of significant growth for Reunert. The company recently experienced strong performance on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, reflecting its robust market position. Looking ahead, Reunert intends to capitalize on this momentum by pursuing strategic growth opportunities, including:
- Investing in the renewable energy sector: Leveraging its expertise in power transmission and embracing sustainable energy solutions.
- Expanding its international footprint: Establishing a presence in key global markets.
- Increasing international revenue: Capitalizing on global demand for digital solutions.
This merger marks a pivotal moment for Reunert, solidifying its position as a key player in South Africa’s evolving digital landscape. By combining the expertise of IQbusiness and +OneX, the company is well-positioned to deliver innovative and impactful solutions that address the complex challenges facing businesses in the digital age.
