Nigerians complain bitterly as they are plunged into darkness due to the collapse of the National Grid. Today, 11th January, 2025, the first “dance” of the National Grid for the year was experienced.
Citizens mentioned that they had had power supply during the morning hours of today but experienced an abrupt power cut which they eventually found out was not area/phase specific but a general occurrence.
The outage happened around 1:56pm and since then, citizens have been forced to either endure or find other means of attaining power supply. This incident follows a series of such collapses in the previous year (2024) with a total of ten (10) collapses.
Although the cause of today’s collapse is still unknown, hopefully, power will be restored by tomorrow so as to avoid damage to foodstuffs and the likes.
