Passengers and visitors using the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja will now have to pay access gate fees again as the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has officially resumed collections. The enforcement of the charges begins on February 8, 2025, at 8:30 AM, according to a public notice issued by FAAN’s management.
The temporary suspension of the fees, which lasted two weeks, was initially put in place on January 24 to ease congestion and minimize the impact of ongoing road construction around the airport. Now that work has progressed, FAAN has decided to reinstate the charges.
In an update shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, FAAN confirmed the development and urged travelers to take note of the resumption.
This move is part of FAAN’s broader airport management strategy, ensuring that facilities remain properly maintained while also generating revenue to improve airport operations.
