Dangote Peugeot Expands to 44,000 Annual Vehicle Production with Tech-Driven Assembly

Boosting Local Manufacturing with Technology

Dangote Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (DPAN) has increased its yearly production to 44,000 vehicles. Advanced technology now drives its assembly, allowing the plant to produce 120 vehicles daily. This expansion strengthens local manufacturing and cuts Nigeria’s dependence on imported cars.

Popular models like the Landtrek pickup, 3008, 5008, and 508 GT now roll out from the local plant. These high-quality vehicles offer Nigerians affordable options while supporting industrial growth.

Digital Transformation Driving Efficiency

At the 46th Kaduna International Trade Fair, Fatima Wali Abdurrahman, Senior Advisor to the Dangote Group President, discussed the company’s tech-driven progress.

“By assembling world-class Peugeot models, DPAN boosts trade and drives Nigeria closer to industrial self-sufficiency,” she said.

This year’s fair, themed “Promoting Efficiency in Manufacturing, Trade, and Agriculture through Digital Transformation,” showcased Dangote Group’s shift to automated systems.

Abdurrahman explained that digitization has reshaped operations, making production faster and more efficient.

“We have fully digitized manufacturing and sales. Tasks that took days now take minutes, especially in our cement plants,” she noted.

She added that Dangote applies similar innovations across industries like cement, sugar, salt, fertilizer, petrochemicals, agriculture, and now automobiles.

Improving Customer Access with Digital Solutions

Beyond manufacturing, Dangote Group enhances customer service through digital tools. The DMS Application, available on Android and iOS, helps registered buyers in the cement, sugar, and salt industries place orders anytime.

“The DMS App gives customers instant access to our products,” Abdurrahman stated.

Recognizing Dangote’s Economic Impact

The company’s contributions to Nigeria’s economy were widely acknowledged.

Ishaya Idi, President of the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KADCCIMA), praised Dangote’s role in job creation and economic growth.

“This trade fair strengthens our partnership with Dangote Group, a key player in Nigeria’s industrial growth,” Idi said.

Government Applauds Dangote’s Efforts

The Federal Government also recognized Dangote’s role in national development. Acting Permanent Secretary Dr. Dafang Sale, representing President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, commended the company’s impact.

“Dangote’s commitment to industrialization and innovation fuels Nigeria’s economic progress,” Sale said.

Usman Saulawa, Director General of KADCCIMA, emphasized Dangote’s wider influence.

“Dangote continues to shape Kaduna’s business landscape while driving Nigeria’s economic development,” Saulawa remarked.

The event highlighted Dangote’s collaboration with Kaduna State and other stakeholders, reinforcing its role in Nigeria’s industrial growth.
