Duku Appointed Head of Communications and PR at Greenville LNG

Greenville LNG Limited, Nigeria’s leading domestic Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) company, has appointed seasoned communications professional Prince Moses G. Duku as the new Head of its Communications, Public Relations (PR), and Strategic Liaison Department. This strategic move aims to enhance the company’s corporate communications and media relations capabilities, further strengthening its position in the highly competitive energy sector.

Prince Duku, who brings nearly three decades of expertise in public relations, is well-recognized for his work in media relations and strategic communication. A distinguished fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and several other professional bodies, including the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC) and Management Specialists (UK), Duku’s career spans numerous sectors, including engineering, construction, and energy. His educational qualifications are equally impressive, with degrees in political science, law, and business management from top universities in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

Duku’s career has been marked by his leadership role at Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, where he served as the Group Head of the Media Relations Office until late 2023. His tenure at Julius Berger was defined by successful, ethically sound media strategies and earned him recognition, including the NIPR President’s Star Award in 2016 for outstanding practice in public relations.

His appointment at Greenville LNG coincides with the company’s ambitious efforts to become a key player in Nigeria’s energy landscape. The company is central to Nigeria’s push for energy security, particularly under the ‘Decade of Gas’ initiative outlined by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aiming to drive the country’s transition to clean, reliable, and affordable energy.

Greenville LNG’s Gas Liquefaction Plant, located in Rumuji, Rivers State, is the first of its kind in West Africa, with a production capacity of 2,250 metric tonnes of LNG per day. The company is actively working to expand this capacity to 5,250 metric tonnes daily, through the addition of two new liquefaction trains. Furthermore, the company has developed a virtual pipeline system for gas distribution across Nigeria, utilizing LNG-fuelled trucks for nationwide delivery. Greenville LNG is also constructing gas refueling and LCNG facilities to provide affordable fuel for industrial, automotive, and power generation needs across the country.

Greenville LNG’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions offers numerous benefits to Nigeria, including reducing energy costs, enhancing fuel security, and decreasing reliance on more expensive and environmentally harmful fuels. The company’s virtual pipeline system plays a pivotal role in ensuring balanced energy availability across Nigeria, even in regions not connected to traditional pipeline infrastructure.

Duku’s appointment is expected to fortify Greenville LNG’s growing reputation as a socially responsible and ethically sound company, providing cutting-edge energy solutions and creating positive impacts on Nigeria’s industrial and environmental landscape. His wealth of experience and established media goodwill will play a crucial role in communicating the company’s vision and objectives to stakeholders across Nigeria.
