Edo State Promotes Investment Prospects at Nigeria Agrofood Fair in Lagos

A delegation from Edo State recently took part in the Nigeria Agrofood Fair and Plastprintpack Conference, which took place from March 26-28 at the Landmark Center in Lagos. The primary goal of the Edo team, led by Abdullah Abdul-kadir from the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO), was to showcase the state’s potential to attract foreign and local investments.

During the event, the Edo delegation outlined the state’s key investment opportunities and its appealing business environment. They highlighted several advantages, including a business-friendly atmosphere, strong governmental backing, a wealth of natural resources, and a strategic geographic location.

According to ESIPO, Edo State’s central position within the country provides easy access to a large market, with over 40 million people residing in neighboring regions. This makes the state a prime destination for businesses looking to expand into Nigeria’s thriving market.

The state’s participation in the fair was made possible by the German Development Agency (GIZ), which helped facilitate connections between Edo State and more than 100 international companies at the event.

Notable participants included the German-African Business Association, which represents over 500 members, the Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria, which focuses on waste recycling, and AGROTRUST Consulting – Engineering – Trade, which manufactures machinery for agricultural products. These organizations were among those exploring potential investment opportunities in Edo State.

The Nigeria Agrofood Fair and Plastprintpack Conference, organized by the German Fairtrade Organization, offered a valuable platform for Edo State to present its economic strengths to a global audience, with the aim of attracting both international and domestic investors.
