The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a temporary halt to all access gate charges at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja.
In a statement issued on Saturday by FAAN’s spokesperson, Obiageli Orah, the agency explained that the decision aims to ease traffic congestion for individuals traveling to and from the airport. The suspension is scheduled to be effective from Friday, January 24, 2025, and will last until Friday, February 7, 2025.
FAAN acknowledged the inconvenience caused by ongoing construction activities around the airport, emphasizing their commitment to minimizing disruptions and ensuring a smoother travel experience for all road users.
The statement reads: “The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria wishes to inform the public that access gate fees at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, have been temporarily suspended to ease traffic challenges faced by airport road users. We appreciate the patience of travelers and remain dedicated to addressing these issues promptly.”
This measure reflects FAAN’s efforts to support travelers during this period of infrastructure upgrades, aiming to create a more efficient airport environment once construction is completed.
